Feral Cat Colony Feeder

A person who feeds a feral cat colony is known as a feral cat caretaker, cat colony caretaker, or colony manager. Their responsibilities include: 

  • Feeding and watering: Providing food and water regularly, ideally at the same time each day 

  • Providing shelter: Creating shelters if needed, especially for extreme weather 

  • Trapping and neutering: Humanely trapping cats and taking them to the vet for vaccinations and neutering 

  • Monitoring: Regularly checking on the health of the colony and individual cats 

  • Educating: Informing neighbors and others about the colony and the cats

TNR (Trap/Neuter/Release) Assistant

  • Helping with humanely trapping cats and taking them to the vet for vaccinations and neutering 

Foster

  • An animal foster is someone who provides temporary care for an animal in need until it's ready for adoption. Fosters provide love, attention, and care for a variety of animals, including: 

    • Kittens and puppies that are too young for adoption

    • Cats and dogs recovering from illness, injury, or surgery

    • Animals with special needs, such as behavioral or medical needs

    • Senior cats and dogs looking for a retirement home

    • Animals nursing litters
